The company is a fast-growing provider of genomic and immuno-oncology focused analytics. They have established a market leading position in the immuno-oncology space for biomarker discovery and personalised cancer vaccine applications. Their platform is used globally by pharma/biopharma companies to support immunotherapy translational research, clinical studies and combination trials. Due to company growth, they now have an exciting opportunity to join their commercial team as the Director Business Development for major pharmaceutical customers on the West Coast, US.

The Role:

Your primary responsibilities will cover a range of strategic and operational aspects from business development, commercial/market assessment and financial analysis.

Take a consultative approach to the business development of key pharma/biopharma customers. Establishing a credible and trusting relation, understanding the customers business needs and requirements, and connecting them with the company’s capabilities and solutions.

The position is home office based anywhere on the West Coast, with 35% travel to major pharma/biopharma customers on the West Coast, US.

Demonstrate the companies NGS-based solutions for Immuno-oncology and targeted therapies for use in Pharma IO and Vaccine clinical trials.

Participate in structuring, negotiating and closing multi-million-dollar contracts with major pharma/biopharma accounts.

Structuring, presenting, negotiating and closing contracts with senior and executive-level pharma/biopharma contacts.

The Requirements:

Master’s degree or PhD is preferred: Molecular Biology, Biological Sciences, Cancer Biology, Biology, Genetics, Human Genetics, Biological Sciences, Life Sciences; or related field.

Experience and success in a business development / strategic accounts position, working with major US pharma/biopharma customer accounts.

Demonstrated experience presenting and closing multi-million-dollar deals with key pharma/biopharma accounts.

Experience developing strong relationships with key pharma/biopharma: clinical, translational medicine, companion diagnostics and business development.

Good understanding of the pharma IO/Oncology drug development process.

Enthusiastic, self-starter, with strong negotiating skills.
