Field Service Engineer

Location: Midwest

The company is a world-leading manufacturer and supplier of instrumentation to the Life Science, PET/Nuclear Medicine and Radiation Safety sectors. Their product line includes High Pressure Liquid Chromatography (HPLC) and Liquid Scintillation Counter systems. Their technology is used in the academic, pharmaceutical, nuclear medicine and life science industries. They are looking for a Field Service Engineer to join their team in the Midwest.

The Role:

On-site installation and basic operator training of instruments and software.

Preventive maintenance, upgrades and repair of systems.

Working on a range of High Pressure Liquid Chromatography (HPLC) and Liquid Scintillation Counter instruments.

Perform validation services (IQ/OQ) of hardware and software.

Identify, analyze, diagnose, and repair products at customer’s location.

Provide pre- and post-sales support.

Work closely with service director to coordinate schedule and prioritize service needs.

Prepare service reports and enter work performed in service database in a timely manner.

Maintain company equipment and property in order.

The position is home based in the Midwest, with regular travel to customers sites (typically 4 days a week at customer sites) based anywhere across the Midwest. They expect the travel will involve a total of 10 nights away per month.

The Requirements: 

Educated in a scientific field; Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Analytical Sciences, or related subject.

Professional field engineer experience or laboratory background.

Experience and knowledge of liquid chromatography (HPLC) or liquid scintillation counting.

Ability to work independently, with natural talent and interest to solve problems.

Willingness to travel extensively

Driver’s license.
