Laboratory Automation Application Specialist
The company is a manufacturer of laboratory automation and liquid handling robotics. Their instruments are used in genomics, NGS sample prep, cell biology, proteomics, drug discovery, analytical chemistry, molecular diagnostics, biobanking, and other applications. They now have an opportunity to join their team as a Field Application Specialist in Boston, MA.
Provide application and technical support to customers for laboratory automation instruments.
Develop application-specific protocols on laboratory automation systems by interpreting procedures provided by the customer.
Perform troubleshooting of application protocols and instrumentation.
Optimize liquid handling performance of instrumentation.
Provide basic and advanced software and hardware training. Develop and deliver training material for Sales and Applications team.
Develop application-specific protocols for complex automated instrumentation, which require integration with third party devices.
The position is home office based in Boston, MA, with average 3 days at customer site in the Boston area and 2 days from home each week.
Working closely with the sales, applications and service teams.
Educated with a Bachelor or Masters Degree; Molecular Biology, Genomics, Cell Biology, Biochemistry, Biomedical Engineering, Biotechnology, Chemistry; or related field.
Comfortable with travel to customer sites in Boston, MA.
Effective planning and customer relationship skills.
Strong presentation and communication skills.
