NPI Systems Engineer
Location: Fremont, CA
The company is an innovative manufacturer of biotechnology and medical equipment and products. Their flow cytometry instruments and analysis software are used by scientists across the world in pharmaceutical, CRO, cancer research institutions, and academic research institutions. Due to company growth, they now have an exciting opportunity to join their team as an NPI Systems Engineer.
The Role:
The NPI System Engineer will Perform failure analysis on field systems to identify initiation sites and root cause.
Acquire a technical understanding of all cytometer systems.
This position is expected to have practical engineering investigative skills, software skills and experience in medical device failure analysis.
Perform failure analyses that identify root causes for quality issues. Utilize engineering skills to identify potential corrective actions.
Identify opportunities for product enhancements that can aid in failure and root cause analysis. Develop follow on reports to demonstrate the effectiveness of quality initiatives.
Work closely with field service team to improve reporting on field failures, gathering of data on failure modes, and increase the speed that analyses can be completed and communicated.
Responsible for designing, developing and maintaining both frontend UI and backend instrument control software components.
Integrate software with firmware/hardware subsystems and trouble shoot issues for system integration and system testing and verifications.
Report progress to the Director of NPI. Manage priority changes and minimize the impact to customers and owners from deviations to planned activities.
The Requirements:
Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in Bioinformatics, Physics, Engineering, or scientific field.
Experience in a Systems Engineering position, preferably in the biotechnology and/or medical device industry.
In-depth knowledge and experience of hardware testing, debug and failure analysis.
Extensive .Net desktop application development experience preferably gained on complex user interface desktop applications.
In depth knowledge and experience of using Object Oriented Design concepts.
Proficient in WPF and C#
