Sales Account Manager

Location: San Francisco Bay Area

The company is an innovative manufacturer of instruments, reagents, and software to carry out laboratory tests in the field of cell biology, DNA / RNA / protein analysis, drug development, human identification and molecular diagnostics. Their products are used by scientists across the globe in the life science, diagnostic, academic, pharma and clinical markets. They now have an exciting opportunity to join their business as an Account Manager in San Francisco.

The Role:

Sales role with primary responsibility to cover the management of reactive accounts, as well as developing new business opportunities in the life science, diagnostic, academic, pharma and clinical markets.

Providing the customer with the appropriate technical and sales support within a timely manner.

Respond to customer requests in a timely manner and leverage the appropriate overlays (Customer Service, Field Support Scientist, Marketing, R&D etc.) to ensure customer satisfaction.

Working closely with Regional/Associate sales manager to determine account list, incorporating a select number of strategic accounts as appropriate, and develop opportunity-based pricing strategies at accounts.

Organize and conduct field-marketing activities such as workshops, focus groups and beta test programs to gain customer feedback.

Using dashboards and CRM to maintain appropriate notes in CRM and reassign customers to their appropriate accounts when they move.

The position is a remote position in San Francisco, with travel to local customer sites roughly 3 or 4 days per week.

Attending conferences and exhibitions to increase brand awareness and new business opportunities.

Working closely with Applications Support, Field Service and internal R&D departments.

The Requirements:

Bachelor’s, Master’s or PhD in a Life Sciences related degree.

Experience in a commercial position is preferred.

Hands on experience in a research or diagnostic laboratory is an advantage.

Ability to travel to customer sites in the San Francisco Bay area (roughly 3 or 4 days per week).

Excellent communication skills.

Excellent organizational skills.

Strong commitment to customer service.
