Software Engineer, Test Development – Laboratory Automation

Location: Munich, Germany

The company is a global leading manufacturer of laboratory automation and liquid handling robotics solutions for full automated workflows. Their systems are used in genomics, cell biology, proteomics, drug discovery, analytical chemistry and molecular diagnostics laboratories across the world. They have an exciting opportunity to join their software development team as a Software Engineer.

The Role:

Working as part of the software development team that develops and tests the most modern laboratory automation solutions.

Development of automation solutions, evaluation of possible software risks and conformity to medical standards.

Programming of automated tests.

Creation of test plans and definition of acceptance criteria as well as evaluation of the test results.

Carrying out test runs and approvals with our liquid handling robots (internally as well as with external development partners).

Checking compliance with the quality specifications of our products before they are released.

Creation of requirements documents and further development of tools.

The Requirements:

BSc, MSc, or PhD in a scientific field; Molecular Biology, Bioinformatics, Systems Biology, Cell Biology, Life Sciences, Biotechnology; or related subject.

Practical programming experience (C#, .NET, Python).

Knowledge of laboratory procedures.

Ability to work independently, with effective communication skills.

Languages: Fluent German and English is essential.
